Tips for tipping!

With wedding season approaching, I wanted to talk about a topic that I get asked about pretty frequently from my couples. Which vendors should you tip? How much should you tip each vendor? This isn't something that a lot of couples or families think about when considering their wedding budget, but it's definitely a cost that you'll need to consider. After all, if you feel a vendor has done a great job, this is a wonderful and much appreciated gesture. Sometimes, gratuity isn't required - other times, it may be included in your final price. Either way, it is absolutely essential to be aware of the contracts you've signed with each vendor. If you still have questions about what to tip, check out these helpful guidelines.

Caterer - 15-20%, although I would strongly encourage you to review your catering contract prior to giving an additional tip. Gratuity is likely included in your final price, but you can include an additional $1 or $2 per guest if you feel the service is deserving.

Bartenders - 15-20%, consider adding an additional 10% if the bartenders are not accepting tips from guests, do not have tip jars on the bar, etc.

DJ - 15-20%, not required but is a great way of showing your gratitude if you feel the service is deserving.

Florist - 10%, not required but is a great way of showing your gratitude if you feel the service is deserving.

Baker - 10%, not required but is a great way of showing your gratitude if you feel the service is deserving.

Photographer/Videographer - 10%, , not required but is a great way of showing your gratitude if you feel the service is deserving.

Officiant - $75-$100

Driver - 15-20%

Aannnddd last but not least, wedding planner - while gratuity is not required, an extra 10-20% is a great way of showing your gratitude if you feel the service is deserving. We will much appreciate it!

Again, take a look over your contracts to ensure you're not doubling up on anything that you've already been charged. Otherwise, be sure to factor in these amounts to your final budget so you can show your vendors that you really appreciate their service! And as always, you can count on your wedding planner/coordinator to deliver these final tips to your vendors that day so that you don't have to.

Have a great weekend, everyone!
