Emergency! Don't forget these items

Happy Saturday! As I'm sitting here putting some last minute things into our hospital bags (yep - little baby Overbaugh will be here any day now), I couldn't help but think of the blog topic for this week - what last minute, emergency items might a couple potentially forget? With all the other planning that goes into a wedding, it's easy to forget about some very basic things that could (and probably will) be needed by either you, a bridal party member, or a guest. I highly recommend that every couple come equipped to the big day with an emergency kit/day of "toolbox". Take the time to put together these last minute items, and you'll save yourself or a loved one from having to scramble. Here are a few of my must haves:

1. For health/wellness: bandaids, pads/tampons, Tums, Ibuprofen, eye drops

2. For beauty/primping: bobby pins, nail file/clippers, make up remover, hair spray,

3. Food/beverage: snacks like granola bars, extra water, mints/gum

4. For preventing decor/dress disasters: Tide pen, safety pins, a sewing kit, a lint roller, fashion tape, clear nail polish, scotch tape, black Sharpie marker, chalk

5. Other "just in case" items: phone charger

Come to think of it, a lot of these items also double as great items to put in bathroom/guest baskets! Check out this example from Darling and Dapper Shop on Etsy, which comes with all the items you see in the basket. Your guests would appreciate having access to these items, too, and it shows that you're being thoughtful about their needs - and that means bonus points for you! If you're not the emergency-kit type, I say at least have some bathroom/guest baskets; that way, if you need to dip into this supply a little bit for a mint or that Tide to Go pen, you're in the clear.

Of course, if you hire Sweet Peony Planning for your wedding planning/coordinating needs, we'll come fully equipped with a day-of toolbox so you don't have to worry about stocking up on anything! We'll bring all of the goodies mentioned above and then some.

Can you think of any other emergency items that would be awesome to stick into your toolkit? I want to hear them! Then I'll have some new things to stock up on ...

In the meanwhile, check out these awesome wedding emergency kits available on Etsy. Some of them come fully equipped with some of the items above; some of them would just be super cute bags to have, give out to your bridal party, or have available to guests. Enjoy!

PS: The "Wedding Day Emergency Kit" featured above comes from TheCoffeeCorner, available for $14.99 (bag only)
